Fragrance composition:
First, you'll notice the aroma of marigold, sweetly citrusy bergamot, and the exotic scent of bucco essential oil. After a moment, they'll be joined by vibrant, floral notes of violets and cyclamen. The base of the fragrance is composed of Moroccan cedarwood and vetiver.
Fragrance story:
Rich, complex, and yet luxurious – this is exactly what BYREDO Bal D'Afrique is. It pays tribute to African culture and at the same time embodies the African adventure experienced by the fragrance's creator, Ben Gorham. His father spent many years traveling across this wonderful continent, and the notes from those trips left a strong impression on Ben.
"Bal d'Afrique is one of my first fragrances. While creating it, I was obsessed with transforming memories into a scent, yet at the same time I felt confident enough to add my own inventive touch." This is how Ben Gorham, Creative Director of BYREDO, describes the story behind the fragrance.
