Dr. Propov's Comfrey Ointment is great for massage, which has a positive effect on the musculoskeletal system (joints and spine, tired legs, tendons and tense muscles). Comfrey ointment is especially popular among people who work physically (e.g., waiters, salespeople, ...). It is often used by athletes after sports activity. It is excellent for skin care for pressure sores, bruises, and sprains. Due to its effects, it is often used in rehabilitation, especially for limb fractures.

The basic ingredient of the ointment is comfrey (Symphytum officinale). This inconspicuous plant with purple flowers and slender, long, hairy leaves grows throughout Europe and Asia. It blooms from May to July and is used as an ointment, oil, tincture, or decoction. Comfrey leaves and roots are used in herbal medicine. They contain many valuable substances in herbal medicine: mucilage, steroid saponins, tannins, inulin, protein, and vitamin B12. The leaves, and especially the flowers, contain allantoin, a substance that promotes wound healing and has a mild anesthetic effect. Comfrey roots are rich in pyrrolizidine alkaloids.

The base of the ointment is purified pork fat, extracted with steam. Lard has excellent lubricating properties, its composition is similar to human fat, and at the same time is a high-quality carrier for the medicinal substances contained in herbs. It's an excellent ointment base, although some companies prefer a synthetic base. Comfrey ointment is enriched with real beeswax, which has excellent protective and moisturizing properties, affecting the final quality of the product.

Ingredients:

  • Lard, beeswax, comfrey, juniper, thyme, calendula, perfume (a blend of natural essential oils) Adeps Suillus, Cera Alba, Symphytum Officinale Root Extract, Juniperus Communis Fruit Extract, Thymus Vulgaris Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil

How to use:
Before applying the ointment, it is recommended to wash the skin with soap-free water and dry thoroughly. Apply a thin layer of the ointment to the skin to avoid clogging pores. Comfrey ointment should be applied 2-3 times daily or as needed, gently rubbing into the skin for 2-3 minutes. Proper application of the ointment increases its effectiveness.

Storage:
Comfrey ointment should be stored at a temperature between 5 and 25˚C.
