Dr. Popov's Propolis Ointment with Honey is an excellent aid in the care of skin irritated by sunlight. It is excellent for skin care in case of sunburn and insect bites. Propolis ointment can be successfully used to care for cracked heels and hands, as it perfectly softens the epidermis.
It is also suitable for use in the treatment of varicose ulcers, purulent wounds, and other skin problems. The ointment has beneficial effects in the treatment of certain types of psoriasis and fungal infections, and also relieves itchy skin. Propolis is one of the oldest remedies used by the Slavs. The ointment is one of the most popular medicinal ointments in general.
The basis of Propolis Ointment is an extract of propolis, also known as bee glue. Propolis is an orange substance (originally a plant sap with a resinous consistency) that is produced inside the bee hive. Bees enrich the resin with their secretions, creating propolis. Initially quite sticky and oily, the substance later hardens. Bees use propolis to disinfect the hive and seal its crevices.
Propolis has strong antibacterial and antiseptic properties and was used by the ancient Egyptians. The ointment base is purified pork fat (processed with hot steam), which resembles human fat in composition. Lard is one of the best fat bases used in ointments. It absorbs very well into the skin, is a good carrier of medicinal substances contained in herbs, and is excellent for treating numerous skin conditions. Although various synthetic substances are commonly used today, good quality lard is difficult to replace with something better.
Ingredients:
- Lard, beeswax, honey, Adeps Suillus propolis, Cera Alba, propylene glycol, Mel, propolis extract.
How to use:
Before using propolis ointment, it is recommended to test the ointment's tolerance on the inside of the arm. If the skin is not reddened and no spots appear, propolis ointment can be used. Before applying the ointment, it is recommended to wash the affected area with soap-free water and dry it thoroughly. Apply a thin layer of the ointment to the skin to avoid clogging pores. Use the propolis ointment 2-3 times a day (or as needed), gently rubbing it into the skin for 2-3 minutes. Proper application of the ointment increases its effectiveness.
