Usage:
The green powder is poured into the chawan tea cup using a bamboo chasaku spoon. Then, water at 70°C is poured over the tea and stirred with a chasen whisk until a thick froth is obtained.
A weaker and more delicate version of tea, usucha, is prepared by pouring 70 ml of water over 2 bamboo tea spoons. The drink is then stirred vigorously, using M-shaped movements. A stronger tea, called koicha, is prepared with 3-4 bamboo tea spoons of matcha and 40 ml of water. Koicha is a thick infusion that is stirred gently in circular motions.
