Fragrance composition:
After the first sniff, you'll notice notes of bergamot, cardamom, and mandarin. Then the heart of the fragrance develops, consisting of sage, nutmeg, and lavender. The whole is completed by a woody base combining sandalwood and cedarwood.
Fragrance history:
Truefitt & Hill 1805 men's fragrance was launched in 1999. However, its origins date back to the 1850s, when William Francis Truefitt created perfumes for the upper class, including the British royal family. The inspiration for this particular scent was a fragrance originally created for Viscount Palmerston, the Prime Minister during Queen Victoria's reign.
The name of this fragrance, however, harks back to 1805, when the Truefitt & Hill men's hair salon first opened. It also became the oldest barbershop in the world.
